Murray credited with first hat-trick in team history

A scoring change has seen defenceman Jordan Murray credited with the first hat-trick in Belleville Senators history.

The Riverview, N.B., native had originally scored twice Saturday night during the Sens’ 5-4 overtime win over the Rochester Americans, the second of which was the overtime winner.

However, the Sens’ second goal of the night at 10:46 of the second, which cut the Americans lead to 3-2, was originally awarded to forward Max McCormick who had tipped Murray’s point shot past Adam Wilcox.

Upon further review though by the AHL, McCormick failed to tip the puck giving Murray his first goal of the night, which in turn awarded him the historic achievement of the first Belleville Senators hat-trick.
