Jordan Murray had the overtime winner as the Belleville Senators beat the Rochester Americans 5-4 at the Yardmen Arena.
Murray notched the game-winner with 56 seconds left in the extra frame to give the Sens their seventh win of the season.
Belleville also got goals from Thomas Chabot, Max McCormick and Francis Perron with Murray scoring twice. Andrew Hammond made 19 saves for the win. Rochester had goals from Sahil Gill (2), Steve Moses and Dalton Smith.
Trailing 4-2 heading into the third, the Sens cut the lead to 4-3 as Murray scored his first goal of the season from a tight angle 2:42 in before Perron tied it up with 7:12 to play as he found a loose puck out front for his second goal of the year.
Belleville opened the scoring 6:24 in as Chabot scored his second goal of the season with a slapshot from in close but responses from Moses and Gill gave the visitors a 2-1 lead over the the Senators.
The Americans pushed its lead to 3-1 as Gill notched his second of the game 2:20 into the second but Belleville cut into the lead as McCormick tipped home Murray’s point shot at 10:46 of the period.
But Smith’s long range-shot beat Hammond to make it 4-2 Rochester at 13:35 for his first goal, and point, of the season.
Belleville’s Macoy Erkamps registered his first point of the season in the game.
The Senators will complete its season long homestand Wednesday night when they host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers. Tickets are available by clicking here.
