Game Day Build-Up: Senators vs. Wolf Pack, Jan. 13

The set-up

The Belleville Senators will hope The Force is with them on Saturday as they welcome the Hartford Wolf Pack to time on the first ever Star Wars night at the Yardmen.

The Sens (15-21-0-3) had its three-game home winning streak snapped Friday night as they were beaten 6-2 by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while Hartford (15-18-3-3) were beaten 4-2 by Laval last night.

Belleville is 9-9 at home while Hartford are 8-8-1-3 on the road. Both teams currently sit outside of a playoff spot with the Sens seven points out.

Fans in attendance are encouraged to wear Star Wars themed costumes and prizes will be given to the best dressed. All fans will also receive a Belleville Senators poster/calendar upon exit.

Roster notes

No changes for the Sens on the roster side of things from Friday but expect a different goalie between the pipes. Marcus Hogberg started Friday night but was pulled in favour of Danny Taylor so either he or Chris Driedger will get the nod against the Wolf Pack.

Ben Sexton and Pat Sieloff remain the Sens’ only injury concerns.

Previous history

In their lone previous match-up, the Sens collected a 5-1 victory over the Wolf Pack as five different Belleville players found the scoresheet with Christian Jaros, Francis Perron and Max Reinhart all registering two points. Saturday’s game will conclude the season series between the teams.

Who to watch

After a three-game stint with Ottawa, Belleville received the welcome boost of Colin White to the line-up Friday and he didn’t disappoint as he scored twice for the first multi-goal game of his professional career. In 28 games with Belleville, White has seven goals and eight assists.

Since being acquired in a trade with Laval, Peter Holland has been on a tear for Hartford as he’s notched five goals and 14 points in 15 games. For the season, the NHL vet has 33 points in 35 games.

Where to watch

Saturday’s game starts at 7pm and can be seen live on through their AHL Live application (subscription required) or at Shoeless Joe’s in Belleville.

The radio broadcast on CJBQ 800 begins at 6:50pm with Jack Miller on the call and David Foot on colour.
