Share this Belleville Sens mid-season check-in February 10, 2022 After an injury-plagued start to the season, the Belleville Senators have worked themselves back into the postseason conversation at the mid-season mark. The respectable record the club has put together should be viewed enthusiastically when the challenges they have faced are considered. Team Statistics: • Overall Record (18-18-0-0) | Home Record (8-10-0-0) | Away Record (10-8-0-0) • Point Percentage – .500% • Longest Win Streak – 4 games (November 20 – November 27) • Goals Scored – 111 (3.08/game) • Goals Against – 109 (3.02/game) • Power Play Percentage — 18.4% • Penalty Kill Percentage – 83.0% • Shots For – 1116 (31.0/game) • Shots Against – 1053 (29.2/game) Roster movement was the story of the first half of the season. Team executives worked tirelessly to find injury and call-up replacements, making a total of 131 transactions to date. When necessary, management even turned to the trade market on three occasions. Noticeably the acquisition of forward Jake Lucchini (from Laval) who has been a consistent offensive leader. Further, he has managed exceptional numbers while filling in for players on injured reserve or in Ottawa. Despite these challenges, several other players have made noteworthy contributions to the club. The efforts of new players, ECHL call-ups and NHL recalls have been especially impressive as they have had to learn new systems on the fly.
