Season seat members Share this Season Seat Member Spotlight: Ken and Sally Rhyndress May 19, 2023 Since the club’s inauguration, the Belleville Senators have constantly ranked amongst the best in the American Hockey League in both season ticket membership and renewals. Amongst these dedicated, long-time supporters of the organization are Ken and Sally Rhyndress. The couple from Napanee, Ontario, have been ticket holders in section 103 since day one in 2017 and took some time to share their experiences for our first Season Seat Member Spotlight. What do the Belleville Senators mean to you? We have followed various levels of hockey in Napanee and Belleville, the Bulls for one season, and to be able to see American Hockey League calibre of hockey only thirty minutes from home is amazing. We really enjoyed all the special nights like Military Night (We’re also impressed with the Hero of the Game activation), Teddy Bear Toss, Hockey Fights Cancer, and Indigenous Communities Night. We also like hearing about the team and players’ initiatives in the community and especially liked the partnership with Quinte Conservation this past season to plant a tree for each broken stick. What has been your favourite experience as Belleville Senators Season Ticket member? I would have to say the NHL preseason game last fall between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs. We are Ottawa fans, and it was extra special to see players like Drake Batherson, Josh Norris, and Thomas Chabot, who we had the opportunity to watch hone their skills in Belleville. It was exciting to see a packed arena, and we were able to get some extra tickets so we could share the experience with family members.” What advice would you give to someone considering purchasing season tickets? If you live in the area, you’re not going to see a better level of hockey. This is a training league for the National Hockey League, and Belleville, as well as all visiting teams, have players that are trying to make it to the next level. Sometimes the lineup changes as players move up/down the highway to Ottawa. But that is what one wishes for the players. You get to see some great players on all teams. We still talk about seeing Andrew Hammond (the Hamburglar) playing goal and Chris Kelly polishing his skills before heading to the Olympics. It is also fun to then watch all these players on TV playing for Ottawa or even alumni like Nick Paul, who went to the Stanley Cup finals last season with Tampa Bay Lightning. For the entertainment you get, the price of tickets is reasonable, and there are other great ticket options if a full season is too much of a time commitment.
