Belleville Sens announce details for 2024 Pride Night presented by Magna Autosystems

February 16, 2024

The Belleville Senators are excited to announce today details for the 2024 Pride Night presented by Magna Autosystems, on Saturday, March 2, 2024, when the Senators host the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres).

The Senators are hosting the event as part of the Club’s commitment to inclusivity and equality, in hockey and beyond and are looking forward to sharing that message, along with our partners at Magna Autosystems in Belleville. Fans can expect digital Pride theming throughout CAA Arena, along with an LGBTQ+-friendly vendors’ market. The Sens will also be raising funds for various local LGBTQ+ organizations, with representatives from Bay of Quinte Pride Committee on hand to drop the ceremonial faceoff.

Magna Autosystems Belleville promotes an inclusive workplace by supporting our LGBTQ+ employee base and providing a safe space to network, share ideas, and experiences”, said Magna Autosystems Belleville Manager of Human Resources Doug Campbell. “Success will be when we are all open to each other’s differences resulting in everyone feeling valued, welcomed, and encouraged to bring their whole selves to work and their community.  We believe strongly in supporting this important night for all.”

“The Bay of Quinte Pride Committee would like to extend our thanks to the players, coaches, trainers, doctors, front office, fans and The Belleville Senators Organization for hosting us,” said Bay of Quinte Pride Committee Member ViQtoria Windrey. “This year’s Pride Theme is ‘Can’t stop the music, We’re still here’.  There’s a song in everyone’s heart, and a voice everywhere saying, ‘turn it down’. It’s been 55 years since the Stonewall Riots, and we need to remember those who sang those songs while recognizing those making music now. Turn the Music up so the next generation will hear it. You can’t stop the Music. We’re still here.”

“Pride night is always an important event for us, as we continue to promote the message that hockey is for everyone,” said Belleville Sens Senior Vice President of Business Operations Breanne Matthews. “We’re looking forward to taking in the action with our friends from Bay of Quinte Pride and all of our fans who share the same belief that anyone can be involved in the sport we love, regardless of your race, religion, background, or sexual orientation.”
