Belleville Sens sign defenceman Ben Roger to amateur tryout offer

The Belleville Senators announced today the signing of defenceman Ben Roger to an amateur tryout offer.

Roger, 20, recently concluded his over-age season with the Kingston Frontenacs, recording 13 points (two goals and 11 assists) in 39 games.

Over five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, split between the London Knights and Frontenacs, the Brighton, Ontario, native registered 32 points (five goals and 27 assists) in 140 contests.

The steady rearguard began his junior career locally with the Wellington Dukes, where he was a member of the 2018 Buckland Cup Champions.

The Ottawa Senators selected Roger in the second round (49th overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft.

The Senators are back in action Friday night against the Syracuse Crunch, with puck drop set for 7:00 p.m. (ET) from Upstate Medical University Arena.
