Game Recap

Belleville Sens unable to slow down Islanders

March 25, 2023

The Belleville Senators concluded their season series with the Bridgeport Islanders in difficult fashion as they fell 5-2 at CAA Arena on Friday night.

Belleville opened the scoring 5:16 into the contest when Maxence Guenette capitalized with a shot from the right point for his fourth of the campaign. Later in the frame, the Islanders equalized through Erik Brown after he was able to force a turnover.

Early in the second period, Bridgeport extended their advantage throughout the stanza as both Ruslan Iskhakov and Arnaud Durandeau found the back of the net to give the visitors a 3-1 lead after forty minutes of play.

In the third, Jake Lucchini would bring the Senators back to within one with a shorthanded marker. However, once again, Bridgeport answered as Andy Andreoff tallied the eventual game-winner from a sharp angle before Durandeau secured the hard-fought road victory with an empty net goal.

The Senators return to action tomorrow night when they host the Milwaukee Admirals for History of Hockey Night, which will celebrate the legacy of the Belleville Bulls with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
