game day Share this Game Day Build-Up: Senators at Bears – February 12, 2022 February 12, 2022 Presented by Carpenters Union Local 397 The Set-Up: A six-day, three-game road trip through Pennsylvania comes to an end for the Belleville Senators tonight as they pay a visit to Giant Center to take on the Hershey Bears. The Sens have a chance to take all six points from the trip with a win, and tie a season-high four-game winning streak, following their Friday night victory over the Penguins in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The game will have some special meaning for Head Coach Troy Mann, who spent eight years in Hershey, four as an assistant coach and four as head coach. Sens forward Colby Williams also spent four years with the Bears, starting his pro career in Hershey between 2016 and 2020. Hershey is coming off of a 6-3 loss in Lehigh Valley on Friday, which snapped a three-game point streak (two wins and an overtime loss). The Bears have registered at least a point in seven of their last 10 games. Previous History: Much like the other teams in Pennsylvania the Senators don’t see the Bears too often. Belleville has faced Hershey six times in franchise history putting up a 2-3-0-1 record, with both of those wins coming on the road at Giant Center (2-0-0-1). Belleville has never won against Hershey at home in three meetings. Roster Notes: The only change to Belleville’s lineup tonight from Friday will be in goal, as Mads Sogaard replaces Filip Gustavsson. Coach Mann will once again roll with seven forwards and 11 defencemen, a roster decision that has worked out so far on the road trip. Belleville’s scratches tonight include Jack Dougherty (shoulder), Mitchell Hoelscher (lower body), Tyrell Goulbourne (personal), Cody Goloubef (healthy), Lassi Thomson (lower body) and Hugo Roy (healthy). Who to Watch: Senators forward Andrew Aggozino has points in back-to-back games, after snapping a four-game pointless streak on Tuesday and then scoring the game winning goal in Wilkes-Barre last night. Defender Zac Leslie also has points in back-to-back games, while Sens Captain Logan Shaw is now riding a three-game point streak. Hershey has three players riding point streaks coming into the game tonight including Brian Pinho (five games), Cody Franson (four games), and Mason Morelli (three games). Mike Vecchione had three assists in the Bears loss to the Phantoms last night.
