Game Day Build-Up: Senators look for better effort in rematch with Monsters

February 11, 2023

Presented by Carpenters Union Local 397
Feb.11/23 @ Cleveland Monsters (NHL Affiliate: Columbus Blue Jackets)

The Set-Up:

The Belleville Senators got quite the fright from the Cleveland Monsters last night, dropping a 6-2 decision at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, but less than 24 hours later, they’ll get another crack at their North Division foes this afternoon, as the two teams clash in Cleveland again. Scott Sabourin and Jonathan Aspirot scored for the Sens, while six different Monsters found the net. Interim Head Coach David Bell said yesterday that “you get what you work for” and that he “expects a much hungrier group” today.

Previous History:

Yesterday’s loss drops the Senators all-time record against the Monsters to 9-8-0-1 and 4-5-0-0 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. Belleville is now 1-2-0-0 against Cleveland this season, after the two teams split a pair of games back in Belleville, earlier in the season.

Roster Notes:

With a 1:00 pm (ET) puck drop,  there may still be lineup decisions to be made. Interim Head Coach David Bell will release his full lineup for this afternoon closer to game time.
