Game Day Build-Up: Senators vs Moose – December 5, 2021

December 5, 2021

Presented by Carpenters Union Local 397

The Set-Up:

The Belleville Senators will play their final home game before a nearly two-week road trip this afternoon, as they finish a weekend double-dip with the Manitoba Moose at CAA Arena. The Senators fell 3-1 to the Moose on Friday night, despite a 30 save performance from Matt Murray, with Cole Reinhardt netting the Senators only goal.

Previous History:

After Friday’s loss, Belleville’s lifetime record against Manitoba drops 11-9-3-0 and 6-6-1-0 at CAA Arena. The Sens and Moose won’t meet again until March 11 and 12, when Belleville visits Manitoba for the only time this season.

Roster Notes:

The only planned lineup changes from Friday are Chris Wilkie drawing in for Phil Daoust, along with Mads Sogaard starting in net, in place of Matt Murray. There will be some shuffles on the lines as well, as Coach Troy Mann tries to generate some chemistry offensively, after a quiet Friday night on the scoreboard.

Who to Watch:

Cole Reinhardt had Belleville’s only goal on Friday night and seemed to provide a spark most times he was on the ice. Meanwhile, despite not scoring the past two games, Egor Sokolov put up four shots on goal and has been threatening lately. The big Russian forward has registered 24 shots in his last six games.

On the Manitoba side, Austin Poganski also scored Friday night and is riding a seven-game point streak (three goals, six assists).  Standout forward Cole Perfetti is also on a three-game point streak (two goals, three assists) and has nine points (three goals, six assists) in his last six games.

Today’s game starts at 3:00 p.m. ET and can be heard on the Belleville Sens official broadcast partner 800 AM CJBQ, with Jack Miller and David Foot (Broadcast time is 2:50 p.m.). The game can also be streamed live on AHL TV.
