game day News Release Share this Gabriel Pizza Gameday Build-Up: Sens return home for Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend against Providence November 29, 2025 Saturday, November 29, 2025 vs Providence Bruins (NHL Affiliate: Boston Bruins) The set-up: There’s nothing like being home for the holidays. And, as we head into the final weekend of November and into December, the Belleville Senators are preparing to settle in for 13 of their next 15 games. That run of home games starts this weekend with a pair against the Providence Bruins for Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend in support of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation. The Senators return from their four-game trip last week that saw them go 1-2-1-0 against the Laval Rocket and Manitoba Moose, and are still 4th in the AHL’s North Division, with a three-way tie between Laval, Rochester and Syracuse two points ahead of them, and the Toronto Marlies four points behind. The Bruins have been a force in the Atlantic this season, posting just three losses over 17 games and sitting in second place, just behind the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, with three games in hand. They continue a five-game road swing tonight, which began with a 5-1 win over Toronto on Wednesday. Previous History: The B-Sens and P-Bruins don’t see each other much in a season. They’ll play four times in 2025-26, with both games in Belleville played this weekend, and the Senators heading out to Rhode Island once in January and once in February. This is the 11th lifetime meeting between Belleville and Providence, with the Sens holding a 5-2-1-2 record and a 3-1-0-1 mark at home. Last season, Belleville was 0-0-1-1 against the Bruins, losing 3-2 in a shootout at home on October 30, 2024 and 4-3 in overtime in Providence on April 12, 2025. Roster Notes: Belleville will get some offensive punch back from the National Hockey League tonight as Stephen Halliday returns from his first recall to Ottawa. The 23-year-old collected one assist over his first four career NHL games last week, and will be relied upon by the Belleville Sens to continue his strong start to the season, with 16 points (one goal, 15 assists) in 15 games. To make room for Halliday, forward Danny Katic has been loaned back to the club’s ECHL affiliate in Texas, the Allen Americans. In terms of injuries, goaltender Hunter Shepard, defender Matt Andonovski and forward Tyler Boucher are all listed as week-to-week. Full lineup details will be available via the Sens’ social channels (@BellevilleSens). Who to Watch: After having his lengthy goal streak snapped a couple of games ago, Arthur Kaliyev has collected three points (one goal, two assists) over his last two games. Rookie defender Carter Yakemchuk had a four-game point streak (one goal, four assists) snapped on Wednesday in Winnipeg, but had a season-high six shots on net in that game. HE also had points in seven of his last nine games played (one goal, seven assists). Meanwhile, forward Olle Lycksell scored his first goal in a Belleville uniform on Wednesday against the Moose, in his third game this season for the AHL Sens. The Bruins have a widespread offence from top to bottom, but they’ve been led by veteran forward Patrick Brown, who has 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) over his first 17 games of the campaign. There are also a couple of familiar faces on the Providence roster, including Madoc-born, former Quinte Red Devil, Trenton Golden Hawk and Wellington Duke, Dalton Bancroft, plus former Belleville Senators defenceman Christian Wolanin, who was drafted by Ottawa and played 50 games for Belleville between 2017 and 2021.
