Defenceman Sam Sedley Signs PTO with Belleville

The Belleville Senators have signed defenceman Sam Sedley to a Professional Try-Out. 

The 22-year-old from St. Mary’s, Ontario, is playing in his second professional season and joins Belleville from the Senators’ ECHL Affiliate, the Allen-Americans. Sedley has skated in 56 games for Allen in 2025-26, collecting 41 points (six goals, 35 assists), 20 penalty minutes, and a +15 rating.  

In his rookie season in 2024-25, Sedley dressed in 62 regular season games for the Reading Royals (ECHL), collecting 30 points (seven goals, 35 assists) and 27 penalty minutes. Sedley also collected three points (one goal, two assists) over four playoff games for Reading last season and suited up for two regular season games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL). 

Prior to turning pro, Sedley played 236 games over five seasons with the Ontario Hockey League’s Owen Sound Attack, collecting 168 points (21 goals, 147 assists) and was an alternate captain.
