It’s been a solid start to the Kelly Cup Playoffs for those Belleville Sens standouts who were sent to Texas to garner some more playoff experience: Forward Danny Katic, who played two games in Belleville this season and led the ECHL in goals this year (38), is also tied atop the Kelly Cup Playoffs points list (10) and leads the Americans in points as well. Forward Mark Duarte, who had eight points (four goals, four assists) in 40 games with Belleville this season has, so far, added a goal and two assists over five playoff games. Duarte also dressed in nine regular season games for Allen in 2025-26, notching five points (three goals, two assists). Rookie forward Landen Hookey has tallied a goal and three assists over five Kelly Cup Playoff games so far, building off a goal in five regular season ECHL games in 2025-26, and 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 49 AHL games with Belleville. Defender Djbril Toure has tallied a goal and an assist in his five playoff games with Allen this season, after playing five regular season games with the Americans earlier in the campaign. The second-year pro dressed in 38 AHL games for Belleville in 2025-26 and had four points (one goal, three assists). Defenceman Sam Sedley, who played a couple of games with Belleville this season on a professional tryout, is having an excellent playoffs offensively so far. Sedley has five points (one goal, four assists) in five playoff games to lead the Americans defence corps in scoring after the first round. Goaltender Jackson Parsons is 1-0-0 after a 25-save shutout in his only appearance in round one. The rookie netminder had a stellar first pro regular season with an ECHL record of 11-9-1 (2.41 goals against average, .923 save percentage), and an AHL mark of 6-5-1 with a shutout (3.22 goals against average, .893 save percentage). Forward Riley Kidney is also with Allen on this playoff run, but has yet to see action. What about the Mavericks? The Kansas City Mavericks were founded in 2009 as the Missouri Mavericks, and play their home games out of Independence, Missouri and the 5,800 seat Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The Mavs have only been to the Kelly Cup Finals once (2023-24) and have never won an ECHL Title. KC was the top team in the Eastern Conference and tops in the Mountain Division as well, putting together a record of 55-12-3-2, with 115 points, and a goal differential of +96. While they didn’t have any players in the top 10 in ECHL points, the Mavericks used a balanced attack through the season that saw six different players surpass the 40 points plateau and two of them (Jackson Jutting and Casey Carreau) cross the 50 point mark as well. Over their first round sweep of the Tahoe Knight Monsters (ECHL Affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights), the Mavericks outscored the Knight Monsters 17-5 and allowed more than one goal just one time in that series. Forwards Bobo Carpenter and Lucas Sowder each have five points (three goals, two assists) on the current playoff run, while Landon McCallum has five helpers in leading the KC offence. In the net, Jack LaFonatine and former Peterborough Petes standout Dylan Wells have split the time and both have 2-0-0 records.
