game day Share this Game Day Build-Up: Sens look for payback against Rocket on Teddy Bear Toss Night November 26, 2022 Nov.26/22 vs Laval Rocket (Montreal Canadiens) Presented by Carpenters Union Local 397 The Set-Up: The Belleville Sens will get another shot at the Laval Rocket tonight, as the North Division rivals finish their two-game weekend set at CAA Arena. While the depleted Senators put forth a strong effort last night, coming back from down three goals to tie the game in the third period, it was the Rocket who had enough extra boost to help them to a 7-5 win, their first over Belleville this season. Tonight, the Senators will look to tighten up defensively, while continuing their offensive surge that’s seen them push into the top 10 in goals for in the American Hockey League. The Senators are also celebrating Teddy Bear Toss Night, in support of the Belleville Firefighters Toy Drive, with donated stuffed animals to be tossed on the ice when the Sens score their first goal. Previous History: After last night’s loss, Belleville’s all-time record against Laval dropped to 32-25-1-2, with a 18-10-2-0 clip at CAA Arena. Tonight’s game is the fifth in the 12-game season series, with another Friday/Saturday doubleheader coming up next month, back in Laval, as part of the Sens six-game Canadian road trip. Roster Notes: The Senators managed to avoid any further injuries last night, so Troy Mann will go with a similar lineup tonight. Changes include defenceman Zachary Massicotte making his American Hockey League debut, replacing Xavier Bernard, and Antoine Bibeau Starting in goal, after relieving Logan Flodell at 8:18 of the second period last night. Injury Report: Who to Watch: Senators power forward Scott Sabourin has had an interesting start to the season, to say the least. The Ottawa native has racked up 110 penalty minutes, breaking the team’s single season PIM record in just 16 games, surpassing Patrick Sieloff who held the previous record at 108. When he’s not in the box, Sabourin continues to be an impact player for the Senators, throwing momentum-changing hits and keeping opponents accountable. He’s also added eight points (three goals, five assists) offensively, including a goal last night that helped to get Belleville back in the game, after trailing by tree. Laval defender Justin Barron is coming off an impressive three-point (two goals, one assist) performance last night. The 20 year-old from Halifax, Nova Scotia was originally drafted 25th overall by Colorado in 2020, before being acquired by Montreal in a trade last season. The form Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL) captain has 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 19 games played and is likely to be a factor in tonight’s game as well.
