Belleville Senators announce multi-year arena naming rights partnership for CIBC Place

October 2, 2026

BELLEVILLE, ON – With the puck about to drop on the 10th season of Senators hockey in the Bay of Quinte Region, the Belleville Sens are proud to welcome CIBC as the new naming rights partner of their beloved home rink.

Beginning Friday, October 2, 2026, the facility originally known as Yardmen Arena, and more recently CAA Arena, will officially become CIBC Place. This announcement marks a new chapter for a building that has been part of the Bay of Quinte community for generations and strengthens CIBC’s long-time partnership with the Senators in both Belleville and Ottawa.

The new multi-year partnership brings together CIBC, the Belleville and Ottawa Senators, the City of Belleville, and the broader community.

“CIBC has been a longtime partner of the Ottawa Senators and has already been an important part of the Belleville community, being a Canadian institution that our fans know and trust,” said Belleville Sens Vice President of Business Operations John Mathers. “Bringing those two connections together through this partnership is a natural fit. And, as we celebrate a decade of calling the Bay of Quinte home, we couldn’t be more excited to have CIBC alongside us as we begin the next chapter.”

Since arriving in Belleville in 2017, the Senators have helped build a growing connection between the Bay of Quinte and the National Capital. That link takes on even more significance through this partnership with a longtime supporter of hockey in Ottawa, bringing that same passion for the game and community to the other side of ‘613 Country’.

“Our relationship with Belleville is very important and strategic. And CIBC coming on as a partner feels the same way,” says Michael Andlauer, owner of the Ottawa Senators and Belleville Senators. “CIBC has been an incredible partner for the Senators, not only with the branding but what they do in our community. So, this is another testimony of CIBC’s commitment to our organization and, more importantly, the Ottawa-Gatineau region and Belleville.”

For CIBC, the partnership brings its longstanding relationship with the Ottawa Senators together with its established presence in Belleville and the surrounding region.

“CIBC is proud to build on our longstanding relationship with the Ottawa Senators and our deep roots in Belleville and across the Bay of Quinte Region through this exciting new partnership,” said Karine Abgrall-Teslyk, Senior Vice-President & Regional President, Personal Banking, Ontario, CIBC. “CIBC Place represents much more than a name on a building — it reflects a shared commitment to community, connection and local pride. Guided by our purpose to help make our clients’ and communities’ ambitions real, we’re proud to support a venue that brings fans, families and the region together, and to be part of the next chapter of Senators hockey in Belleville.”

And as the building takes on its third name, its history remains an important part of its identity.

The original Yardmen Arena was made possible largely through the efforts of the Belleville Yardmen and the Yardmen Benefit Fund, whose commitment helped establish a facility that has served as a gathering place for generations of local athletes, families and fans.

That legacy continues through the building’s many chapters, with the Belleville Senators proud to have helped recognize the Yardmen’s contribution through the tribute that now stands outside the main entrance of the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre and at Gate 1 of CIBC Place.

“The City of Belleville is pleased to welcome CIBC in supporting the Belleville Senators and hockey in our community,” said Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis. “Partnerships like this demonstrate a strong commitment to our community and help support the continued success of events and experiences that bring residents and visitors together. We look forward to working with [Partner name] and seeing this partnership grow in the years ahead.”

The new CIBC Place name and branding will be unveiled to fans tonight, as the Belleville Senators open their 2026-27 campaign against the Hamilton Hammers.

Fans attending tonight’s game will be among the first to experience CIBC Place as the new home of Senators hockey.
