Gabriel Pizza Gameday Build-Up: BSens aim for third straight win against Bears

October 24, 2026

Saturday, October 24, 2026, vs. Hershey Bears (NHL Affiliate: Washington Capitals)

The Set-Up

Coming off a big win in Wilkes-Barre last night, the Belleville Senators are hoping to continue their roll as they take on the Hershey Bears. The Senators won 7-3, taking down the Penguins in a full-team performance. Phil Tomasino led the way with a four-point contest, while Tyler Boucher recorded two goals to kick off the Pennsylvania road trip. Post-game, head coach Andrew Campbell mentioned that the team’s quick starts have been a result of the players’ efforts. “They’ve been ready to go. We have a good group of leaders in our room and they obviously are saying the right things to hold each other accountable. It’s something we’re going to continue to build on.” Now playing on back-to-back nights, Belleville has a chance to extend their winning streak to three games as the Bears welcome the Senators to Hershey for their first meeting of the season. Hershey has not played since Sunday, when they fell to the Providence Bruins 6-1 after winning four straight games. The Bears boast some interesting names, including Andrew Cristall and Lynden Lakovic, who bring playmaking and scoring ability, while goaltender Cal Petersen has started the season strong, recording a .908 save percentage through his first three starts. Tonight marks the first of two meetings between Belleville and Hershey this season in what should be an entertaining matchup.

Previous History

Belleville had a strong showing against the Hershey Bears last year, finishing the season series with a 3-1-0-0 record. The Senators won their final two meetings in Hershey on March 14th and 15th, earning 6-3 and 5-2 victories to complete a weekend sweep. Belleville outscored the Bears 17-12 across the four matchups last season and holds a 10-9-1-0 all-time record against the Bears.

Roster Notes

Going into the middle game of this three-in-three weekend there are no new roster notes. Full roster and lineup details will be available closer to puck drop through the team’s social media channels (@BellevilleSens).

Who to Watch

Coming off a two-goal night in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton yesterday, Tyler Boucher is hoping to extend his two-game point streak against the Bears. The 23-year-old forward brings a physical presence to the lineup, using his strength and willingness to battle along the boards to create opportunities and make life difficult for opposing defenders. Boucher now has five points (three goals, two assists) in eight games and is starting to show signs of building on last year’s offensive production. As he looks to take another step, Boucher will aim to combine his physical style with increased net-front production, making him one to keep an eye on tonight as Belleville hopes to keep pushing forward.

Andrew Cristall has continued to establish himself as one of the Hershey Bears’ top offensive weapons in his second professional season, recording eight assists through his first six games. The Vancouver, B.C., native has showcased his vision and playmaking ability, consistently creating scoring opportunities and finding teammates in dangerous areas. Selected 40th overall by the Washington Capitals in 2023, Cristall is coming off an impressive rookie AHL campaign, posting 60 points (20 goals, 40 assists) in 72 games last season. His strong start builds on that production, highlighting his potential as an important piece of Hershey’s offence and a prospect to watch within the Capitals’ organization. With Cristall continuing to set up goals at a high rate, he will be a key player to watch as the Bears look to get back to their winning ways.
