game day Share this Game Day Build-Up: Belleville Sens cap three-game homestand with another visit from Syracuse November 13, 2024 Belleville Senators Game Day Build-Up Nov.13/24 vs Syracuse Crunch (NHL Affiliate: Tampa Bay Lightning) The Set Up: The Belleville Senators will wrap up a three-game home stand at CAA Arena tonight and have a chance to extend their six-game point streak, tied for the longest active in the American Hockey League heading into tonight. The Sens stretched their streak last weekend with a shootout loss and a win over Laval at home, keeping them right in the mix, with highlights last weekend including Malcolm Subban’s first appearance and win as a Senator, Stephen Halliday’s first goal of the season, and Max Guenette’s first of the campaign. And after a pair of games with a Canadian rival, Belleville turns its focus tonight back to another familiar divisional foe as they welcome the Syracuse Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning) for their fourth meeting of the season, in what should be another exciting and physical affair on Salvation Army Night. Previous History: The Senators and Crunch have seen a lot of each other through the first month of the season, already meeting three times, with Belleville holding a record of 1-0-1-1. While the Crunch are the only team to hand the Senators a regulation loss this year, it was Belleville who were winners in their last meeting, walloping the Crunch 6-2 in Syracuse on November 2. Last season against the Crunch, the Senators were 7-1-0-0 and lifetime against Syracuse, Belleville is 21-17-2-3 and 14-7-0-0 at CAA Arena. Roster Notes: Two significant transactions were made by the Senators since the weekend, with goaltender Michael Simpson recalled from the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) last Saturday and forward Zack Ostapchuk assigned to Belleville on Tuesday, after spending a couple of weeks with the NHL Senators in Ottawa. Ostapchuk hasn’t played for Belleville since October 26 and is averaging 10:30 of ice time, with one assist, over seven NHL games this season. A full list of up-to-date transactions can be found by clicking here, with full lineup details available via the B-Sens social channels (@bellevillesens) before the game. Who to Watch: Defender Jeremy Davies is on his second (and longest) point streak of the season, finding his name on the scoresheet in four consecutive contests (one goal, five assists). The veteran bluneliner and first-year Senator, had an assist and three shots on goal in Belleville’s win over Laval last Saturday, and is sitting on 99 career AHL assists. Belleville captain Garrett Pilon is also on his second point streak of the season, collecting seven assists over his last three games, including two last Saturday. Stephen Halliday has points in back-to-back games, after scoring last Friday and adding a helper on Saturday. Sens fans won’t get to see the most productive member of the Crunch, as Gage Goncalves (six assists over a four-game point streak) was recalled to NHL Tampa Bay this morning. However, forward Connor Sheary, who’s played lose to 600 games in the NHL over his career, has points in three consecutive games (one goal, two assists) and his five shots on goal in each of his last three games. At the Rink: It’s Salvation Army Night at CAA Arena as the Belleville Sens will help to kick off the Belleville Salvation Army’s 2024 Kettle Campaign. Representatives from the Belleville chapter, along with Mayor Neil Ellis, and others, will take part in a pregame ceremony. Members of the Salvation Army Band will also be playing outside of Gate 1 before the game, with gates set to open at 6:00 p.m. Ticket Info: Tickets for tonight’s game against the Syracuse Crunch and all home games through the first half of the 2024-25 Belleville Sens season are now on sale via Ticketmaster, or by emailing tickets@bellevillesens.com.
