The Set Up: 

The Belleville Senators will host the Laval Rocket in their last home game before a five-game road swing tonight. The team got back in the win column with a convincing 4-2 comeback win over the Rocket in Laval last night, with Wyatte Wylie and Jamieson Rees scoring their first goals in Belleville uniforms, and Matt Highmore tallying a career-best three assists. It continued a strong November for the team, which has now recorded at least 1 standings point in 11 of its 13 games.

Tonight’s Hockey Fights Cancer Night sees the club teaming up again with the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation and Quinte Health to raise funds for the Trenton Memorial Hospital’s exclusive Cystoscopy bladder cancer screening program, through their #ScopeForHope campaign

Previous History:

Tonight’s game will cap off four meetings between the Senators and Rocket in the month of November. The teams will meet once more before the New Year, and then only twice more in early 2025 before they play three straight to end the regular season and the ten-game season series.

The two teams played twice in Belleville on November 8th and 9th, with the Rocket taking a 4-3 shootout win and the Senators responding with a 3-2 regulation win the following night.

Who to Watch:

Belleville forward Matt Highmore recorded three assists last night for the first time in his AHL career, while Cole Reinhardt recorded his fourth multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist in the win. Goaltender Malcolm Subban is now 2-0-1 against the Rocket, stopping 54 of 59 shots (.915 SV%) against the team.

For Laval, forward Brandon Gignac scored one of the Rocket’s goals last night; both of his goals this season have come in the three game season series with the Senators.
