The Phelpston, Ont. netminder turned back all 32 Trenton Golden Hawks shots to shut out his old mates 4-0 at the Duncan McDonald Community Gardens. A four-point night from Griffin Grundner and two goals from Ashton Darocy led the way offensively for the Flyers, visiting Trenton for the first time since October 5, 2024. Grundner scored on a scramble on Trenton rookie goaltender Simon Godin to get the scoring started late in the first, with Darocy winging a high shot home and Grunder spanking a backdoor feed off the rush from Josh Cleary in the second stanza. Darocy’s powerplay goal about five-and-a-half minutes into the third polished off a satisfactory effort for Leamington. Godin, up from the Kingston Jr. Gaels U18 AAA team, put a solid showing forward with 26-save effort in his OJHL debut. Friday, October 23, 2026: Lindsay Muskies – 8 vs Trenton Golden Hawks – 7 (OT) The Trenton Golden Hawks made small steps toward improvement with a point, but their losing skid continued to seven games in another 8-7 OT loss in Lindsay. Ryan Chamberlain buried a hat trick and added four points in the defeat, which started off wild much like the Hawks season opener at the Fish Pond. Lindsay went up 3-2 after 20 minutes on goals from Shane Brown, Anthony Farace and Quinte Red Devils graduate Kaden Koutroulides, with Evan Norris and Chamberlain responding for Trenton. The Hawks turned up the ante a bit in the second, escaping to the second intermission with a 6-5 lead on Chamberlain’s second and single tallies from Beckett Ewart, Charlie Gage, Chamberlain and Ethan Brassard. Chamberlain completed the hat trick in the third, but the Muskies managed to pull even on Koutroulides’ second of the game to force overtime. Grant Jokic provided the heroics for Lindsay. Along with Chamberlain, Norris, Brassard, Ewart, Kaiden Harmon and Niko Krmpotic all had multi-point games and Ben Radley added his first assist and point as a Hawk. After starting goaltender Hayden Jeffery was traded to Kemptville of the CCHL, Godin made 23 saves in his second OJHL start. WELLINGTON DUKES Friday, October 23, 2026: Wellington Dukes – 4 @ Markham Royals – 5 (OT) Five days after the Wellington Dukes and Markham Royals engaged in a thriller at the Duke Dome, they put up another gem against each other on Friday at Honey and Barry Memorial Arena. This time, the Dukes needed to claw their way out of a four-goal hole to earn a single point in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Royals. After falling in a 9-4 decision in Cobourg Monday, it appeared another tough blow was going to be delivered to the Dukes when the Royals jumped out to their 4-0 lead on 13 shots in the first courtesy of Charlie Annett, Chance Adams, Yehor Staiko, and Josh Caeser. Wellington’s comeback bid started with Austin Ottenhof’s first official OJHL goal (after scoring the shootout winner versus Leamington back on October 6) from Justin Doak at the 4:07 mark of the second frame. More than two minutes later, Kasen Beitz took a pass from Cooper Woron, back in the lineup after about a month out due to injury, walked out from behind the Markham cage and snuck a shot through Jacob Ceranic on the short-side for goal #9 of his season. A late Markham penalty resulted in Zach Anderson putting one home with a setup from Jayden Levesque and Marco Wolf to trim the gap even more. Off the jump in the third, Wellington carried its momentum forward with Levesque’s rocket for his fourth of the season from Anderson, and a back-and-forth ensued through the rest of regulation, with Riley rebounding nicely after the early wobbles. In overtime though, the Royals managed to find a path to the net and converted through Andrew Pacheco 53 seconds into the bonus frame. Riley finished with 30 saves. Monday, October 26, 2026: Wellington Dukes – 6 @ Toronto Warriors – 0 It was a milestone Monday night for Mason Raycroft. The 17-year-old goaltender, the son of former Duke and NHLer Andrew Raycroft, made 23 saves for his first OJHL shutout in a 6-0 blitzing of the Toronto Warriors. Former Warrior Zach Anderson opened the scoring with his fifth of the season and the eventual game-winner 7:37 in the first and the Dukes soared from there. Anderson, Landon Marleau, Woron, Beitz and Levesque all had three-point games. Wolf added a goal and a helper for the now 11-5-1-1 Dukes, who rebounded nicely from two tough losses to their competitors atop the East Conference in Markham and Cobourg. The Dukes are home to the Aurora Tigers on Friday at 7:30 p.m. to round out October. PICTON PIRATES Thursday, October 22, 2026: Amherstview Jets – 6 @ Picton Pirates – 9 A wild shootout was on display at the Prince Edward Community Centre Thursday. The Picton Pirates and Amherstview Jets combined for 15 goals in Picton’s first win over the Jets this season. The Pirates fell behind 3-1 after one period before rattling off four unanswered second-period tallies and six overall in the frame, warding off the Jets’ late attack to score the win. The drivers of the offensive engine, Gerrit Kempers (hat trick, 3 assists) and Joey Coates (one goal, five assists), each had six points, while Keenan Wiles chipped in two goals and a helper. Ben Smith scored, as did Ty Mulder and Isaih More to help the cause. Nick Parodo made 18 saves as Picton outshot Amherstview 49-24. The two teams will meet again this week. Monday, October 26, 2026: Picton Pirates – 6 @ Port Hope Panthers – 5 (OT) Picton had a pendulum-swinging affair on Monday night that ended in a comeback victory to go 2-0 in the last week. Down 5-3 late in the second period, the Pirates got two to tie courtesy of Kirk Stevenson and Kempers before Wiles potted his 11th of the season for the overtime winner. Stevenson finished with two goals and an assist, with More and Caleb Doyle scoring once each for Picton and Coates adding four assists. Cohen Bedore made 29 saves. The win was Picton’s fourth in a row and improves them to 6-5-2-2.
