Weekly Recap: Belleville Sens continue to climb up the North Division standings

March 6, 2023

As Belleville Senators continue their climb up the North Division standings following another winning week, the team is set to begin their crucial road trip on Wednesday night in Laval for a pivotal matchup with the Rocket before visiting the Utica Comets (Friday) and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Saturday) to conclude the weekend. Here’s a recap of some of the action from the past week.

Wednesday, March 1 : Belleville 1 vs Utica 4

Despite Roby Jarventie opening the scoring just under two minutes into the contest, the Belleville Senators would be stifled throughout the remaining portions of the game, ultimately falling 4-1 to the Utica Comets to begin the week.

Friday, March 3: Belleville 4 vs Rockford 1

A stellar 32-save performance from Kevin Mandolese and goals from John Quenneville, Angus Crookshank, Cole Cassels and Egor Sokolov helped the Senators complete their season series against the Rockford IceHogs with a win. Belleville would turn in an impressive defensive showing in the second period killing off both a two-man disadvantage and a five-minute major.

Saturday, March 4: Belleville 3 vs  Rochester 2

The Senators earned another hard-fought victory as they defeated the Rochester Americans in another tightly contested affair between the rival clubs. Netminder Dylan Ferguson would make 20 saves in the win, while Angus Crookshank, Matthew Boucher and Jarid Lukosevicius all found the back of the net.
