Weekly Recap: Belleville Sens looking to build off successful homestand

Following an exciting four-game homestand which earned the Belleville Senators a (3-1-0-0) record. The team is looking to continue their recent winning ways as they visit the Eastern Seaboard for a matchup with the Bridgeport Islanders on Thursday evening before heading to the Keystone State for contests against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Saturday) and Hershey Bears (Sunday).

Wednesday, February 15: Belleville 4 vs Syracuse 2

Antoine Bibeau made 34 saves and Angus Crookshank scored twice while David Bell earned his first victory since being appointed Interim Head Coach as the Belleville Senators got their homestand off to a strong start with a convincing 4-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch to begin the week.

Friday, February 17: Belleville 5 vs Laval 3

The Belleville Senators showed their resolve in the first meeting of a three-game set with the Laval Rocket at CAA Arena as they rallied from an early 2-0 deficit, scoring five unanswered times through Jonathan Aspirot, Angus Crookshank (2), Jacob Bernard-Docker and Egor Sokolov before the Rocket got one back on a late power play.

Saturday, February 18: Belleville 5 vs Laval 4 (OT)

Jake Lucchini (2g-2a) capped off his four-point performance with an overtime winner as the Senators edged the Rocket. Roby Jarventie (2) and Egor Sokolov also tallied for Belleville, while Antoine Bibeau made 24 saves for his third consecutive win. With his goal, Sokolov became the all-time leading scorer in franchise history with 117 points, surpassing Drake Batherson. 

Monday, February 20: Belleville 2 vs Laval 7

Despite another two-goal performance from Roby Jarventie on Family Day, the Senators weren’t able to extend their winning streak to four straight as they ultimately fell 7-2, concluding a hectic long weekend.
