WEEKLY RECAP

Weekly Recap: Belleville Sens looking to continue strong stretch of results into March

February 27, 2023

Following another successful week, the Belleville Senators are looking to continue their strong stretch of play into the month of March, as they return home to host the Utica Comets on Wednesday before welcoming the Rockford IceHogs (Friday) and the Rochester Americans (Saturday) to the Friendly City for Road to the AHL Night presented by Mackay Insurance and Community Heroes Night presented by Bell respectively. Here’s a recap of some of the action from the past week.

LAST WEEK’S RESULTS

Thursday, February 23: Belleville 1 at Bridgeport 5

The Belleville Senators began their three-game road trip with a difficult result as they fell 5-1 to the Bridgeport Islanders on Thursday night. Luke Richardson made 18 saves in his AHL debut as he filled in admirably on short notice, while Mark Kastelic was able to find the back of the net with the man advantage.

Saturday, February 25: Belleville 2 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 1

Newly acquired netminder Dylan Ferguson made a career-high 38-saves in his debut as Cole Reinhardt played hero in overtime, and Roby Jarventie capitalized on a rebound in regulation time to help pace the offence as the Belleville Senators skated to a tightly contested victory.

Sunday, February 26: Belleville 4 at Hershey

A three-point performance and a highlight-reel shorthanded marker from Jake Lucchini and pair of tallies from Egor Sokolov made the difference as the Senators concluded their road trip with an exciting 4-2 win over the Hershey Bears on Sunday afternoon.
