Community News Release Share this Local Author Set to Release History of Belleville Junior Hockey Book June 1, 2026 Belleville author, photographer and filmmaker Aaron Bell is set to release his new book, Junior Hockey Giants: Local Legends Belleville, during a launch event on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 4:00 pm at Boston Pizza on Bell Boulevard in Belleville. The book features unique stories and archival photographs from Bell and The Intelligencer from the early days of the Belleville Jr. B Bobcats through the Belleville Bulls era in the OHL, along with limited features of recent stars with the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League. “I believe that hockey has been a consistent aspect that brings our community together,” said Bell, who previously released local hockey history books including More Macs More (2009) celebrating the World Champion Belleville McFarlands as well as 25 Years with the Belleville Bulls (2005), which chronicled the first 25 years of Belleville Bulls hockey and Crawford: Family of Champions (2015) celebrating Belleville’s first family of hockey. Bell was a long-time photographer for the Ontario Hockey League and covered the Bulls extensively from 2008 – 2014. This book features stars from throughout that era as well as extended features on the 1999 OHL championship team and 2008 team that went to the Memorial Cup including stars Mike Murphy, P.K. Subban, Eric Tangradi, Shawn Matthias and Matt Beleskey. “This book includes so many fantastic memories of the Bulls and I believe any long-time hockey fan in this community is going to enjoy this title,” Bell said.
