Weekly Recap: Belleville beats Toronto, falls to Hartford, to begin four-game homestand

The Belleville Senators had another split weekend, as they returned to CIBC Place to begin a four-game homestand.

The Sens couldn’t get past the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL Affiliate of the New York Rangers) on Friday, but the offence came back to life on Sunday in a victory against the Toronto Marlies (AHL Affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs). The weekend’s results have the Sens sitting fourth in the AHL’s North Division after 12 games played (tied for most in the North), with a record of 5-5-2-0 and 12 points. The North’s early leaders remain the Laval Rocket (AHL Affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens), who sit atop the division with 16 points and an 8-3-0-0 record.

Here’s a rundown of how the weekend’s games played out – with a pair of Atlantic Division opponents set to visit on Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend presented by CIBC this coming Friday and Saturday.

Friday, October 30, 2026: Belleville Senators – 1 vs Hartford Wolf Pack

The Belleville Senators’ leading goal-scorer found the scoresheet midway through the first period on Friday against the Hartford Wolf Pack, but Kasper Halttunen’s sixth goal of the season was the only offence they could muster, in a 4-1 loss. Eskild Bakke Olsen (4th) and Samuel Bolduc (2nd) assisted on the Halttunen marker at 10:48 of the opening frame, which came 4:30 after Anton Blidh’s game-opening goal on the power play. Hartford’s Justin Dowling would add another power play goal late in the first, and after a scoreless second, the Wolf Pack tacked on two empty net markers from Carey Terrance and Anton Blidh in the third. Jackson Parsons turned aside 32 of the 34 shots he faced in the game.
