Weekly Recap: Belleville Sens continue homestand

The Belleville Senators continue their four-game homestand at CAA Arena this week when they host North Division rivals the Cleveland Monsters (Wednesday), the Toronto Marlies (Friday) and the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday in the club’s annual Hockey Fights Cancer game.

LAST WEEK’S RESULTS:

Friday, Nov. 11: Belleville 2 at Syracuse 4

Despite a late tally from Ridly Greig, the Belleville Senators were unable to catch the Syracuse Crunch at Upstate Medical University Arena. In net, Antoine Bibeau made 23 saves in relief after starter Mads Søgaard left the contest with an injury in the first period, while Angus Crookshank collected two assists. 

Saturday, Nov. 12: Belleville 3 vs Rochester 2

Jake Lucchini, Egor Sokolov and Rourke Chartier all scored in the shootout, helping the Senators defeat the Rochester Americans on Miltary Appreciation Night. Offensively the tightly contested matchup saw the AHL Senators paced by a pair of defencemen as both Lassi Thomson and Kristains Rubins found the back of the net in regulation time to help force extra time.
