City of Belleville proclaims October 14 to 20 as “Senators Week”

It’s a big week for hockey fans in the Bay of Quinte Region as the Belleville Senators open the home portion of their 2025-26 schedule at CAA Arena!

And, with the Senators set to hit home ice on Saturday against the Toronto Marlies (AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) and Sunday against the Syracuse Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning), Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis and Council are throwing their support behind the club, declaring this week as “Senators Week” in the city.

At Tuesday’s Belleville City Council meeting, Mayor Neil Ellis read the following proclamation:

“The Belleville Senators proudly represent our city and the Quinte Region as the American Hockey League affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and have served as a source of local pride and community spirit since they arrived in 2017. 

The team makes a significant contribution to the economic vitality of the city and region through tourism, employment, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations. 

The Senators also actively engage with residents through school visits, charity initiatives, community events, and other youth programs that foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and civic pride. 

The 2025-26 AHL season marks another exciting chapter in the team and city’s hockey history, with their ninth season set to bring together fans, families and visitors to celebrate the passion of professional hockey in our community.

I’m proud to recognize the Senators as valued ambassadors for our city and proclaim the week of October 14 to October 20, 2025, as Senators Week in the City of Belleville!”

To mark the occasion, the residents and fans are encouraged to wear Belleville Sens colours of red, black and white throughout the week, and the Belleville Sens flag will be raised outside of the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre on Friday, in the lead-up to Saturday’s home opener.
