Gabriel Pizza Gameday Build-Up: Belleville Sens eye repeat performance in matinee with Marlies

October 26, 2025

Sunday, October 26, 2025 @ Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs)

The set-up:

After a couple of weeks of gelling together, the Belleville Senators are starting to show consistency and confidence, after rolling into Toronto on Saturday afternoon and outskating the Marlies to a 4-2 win. It was their second win in as many games. It was helped along by more depth scoring from Keean Washkurak, Oskar Pettersson, Hayden Hodgson, and Carter Yakemchuk, with the Sens roster now boasting eight players who have points in back-to-back games or better heading into this afternoon’s rematch. With the season series now even at one, Belleville looks to bring another complete performance into Coca-Cola Coliseum for round three of this season’s Battle of Ontario and plant itself back in the middle of the North Division’s early-season standings.

Previous History:

Belleville’s Saturday afternoon win in Toronto ties the current season’s Battle of Ontario at a win a piece, with Belleville’s lifetime record against Toronto improving to 42-35-4-6, and 22-16-3-2 on the road. Oskar Pettersson’s goal was the second in as many games against the Marlies early in the season, and Hunter Shepard got his first taste of the rivalry, earning his first win in a Senators uniform. The rivalry continues on Wednesday, November 19, when Belleville hosts Toronto for its first-ever School Day Game. The Sens and Marlies will then clash four times in December, before wrapping up their 10-game season series in January.

Roster Notes:

There were no transactions reported for the Senators overnight, or this morning ,meaning the roster should remain the same as Saturday. Hunter Shepard made 29 saves for his first win in a Belleville uniform last night, but Head Coach Dave Bell didn’t tip is cards in terms of who would start this afternoon. Full lineup details available via the Senators social media feeds (@BellevilleSens) at the start of warm-up, about half an hour before puck drop.
