WEEKLY RECAP Share this Weekly Recap: December 31, 2023 – January 7, 2024 January 8, 2024 The Belleville Senators rang in the new year by picking up a pair of wins on the road in Winnipeg and extending their win streak to a season-high six games. They’ll look to extend what’s currently the longest win streak in the American Hockey League on Wednesday night, when the Moose make a return visit to CAA Arena, to finish off three straight games between the Canadian rivals. LAST TWO WEEK’S RESULTS: Saturday, January 6, 2024: Belleville Senators – 3 @ Manitoba Moose – 1 Belleville put together a solid defensive effort in a gritty win on the road in Winnipeg, knocking off the Manitoba Moose 3-1, at Canada Life Centre. Josh Curre, Graham McPhee and Egor Sokolov all scored for Belleville, while Mads Sogaard only had to stop 15 shots in the win. Belleville followed up Saturday’s 3-1 over Manitoba, with another tight victory, this time 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. Brennan Saulnier scored in his return from a 21-game injury layoff, while rookie Zack Ostapchuk netted the game-winner inside the final two minutes and Kevin Mandolese earned his fourth straight win.
