Summer Skate 2025: Jenik itching to help Senators get return to the postseason

The Belleville Senators’ 2025-26 roster is starting to take shape, with the Ottawa Senators announcing a handful of two-way National Hockey League contracts, and new Belleville Sens general manager Matt Turek also locking down some familiar faces on fresh American Hockey League deals over the past couple of months.

With that in mind, the Belleville Sens Entertainment Network is catching up with newly signed players, who are either slated to be in the Friendly City all season or could be back and forth between the Quinte Region and Ottawa.

In this week’s episode, we catch up with forward Jan Jenik, who in his first season with the Senators in 2024-25, earned the nickname “The Octopus” for his relentless shot blocking and the way he covers every inch of the rink. After signing a one-year extension with the organization recently, Jenik caught up with the BSEN to chat about his summer and expectations for the upcoming campaign!
